How to handle the “wonky” part of life; 5 tips to keeping your dignity and eyes on the prize!

Thank goodness for mentors! Back in March when my mentor, Ali Brown, coached us for a full hour on the cycle of breaking through to new levels of success, I was relieved to know when the wonky stuff starts popping up in life - it’s all part of the success cycle. Hang on!

In other words, we ALL go through what she appropriately calls “going through the wonkiness.” Before breaking through to a newer version of you and new level of success, we must have the courage to push through the old behavior patterns and old mindset in order to move into our next level of success. And, in the same vain, your personal growth always precedes your business growth. So, no worries, you are not crazy and your life is not falling apart at the seams when you go through this!

I’m here today to tell you - you are NOT alone.

This week I was in the thick of wonky-ville! I started the year off with goals and intentions to uplevel my business in several ways. My goals included adding corporate clients to my roster of VIP services. Grateful servicing a superb corporate client. My goals included finding the right business assistant that I did not have to teach much how to represent my “voice and brand” in my marketing. Found her and making it work. My goals included finding a web designer I could resonate with and really got who I was to create a new website and brand. Found her and watch for this summer! My goals included having a wider reach to connect with my audience and build upon my credibility. I’m in the thick of it given the creative projects and people I am honored to be collaborating with. Wow, so grateful after five months!

But here comes the twist. With all this movement and energy comes the “wonky.”

It looks like this: people and situations showing up that represent “old patterns” and “beliefs” that no longer serve you nor your growth and new successes. So guess what? I am now holding on with every fiber to move through the wonkiness that is expected as a part of my journey called transformation. Geez it’s not comfortable – but there is always a pay-off called success and a better version of you.

So what’s the secret to get through it? Here are my 5 tips to help you not fly the coop and stay sane in the middle of the chaos:

1    1. Reach out for help and support. Don’t be shy in asking for this. Everyone goes through this at one time or another. Talk to friends or business associates who relate with your industry and understand what you may be going through. They will soften the edges for you!

2    2. Ramp up your spiritual practices by journaling, listening to spiritual mentors, and anything else that helps “ground” you as you move through this stage. Trust me. The wonkiness goes away when you breakthrough.

3    3. Allow yourself to feel the doubt, fear, concern, worry but find a way to release it. Cry. Scream into a pillow. Exercise. Anything that will help you release the blocked energy in your body. You will feel soooo much better!

4    4. Stay true to your goals and dignity. Regardless of what you are going through – TRUST the process and keep your heart and mind focused on your goals and outcome. Let go and Let God!

5    5. Acknowledge yourself for the successes you’ve had in the past while focusing on taking care of you in the present. Read through your success journal and remember what it took to get there.

Let me know your thoughts by posting on the blog! I'd love to read about your "wonky" times. Hang tight! Life is always getting better when we believe.

On-Camera Training: Turn Personal Branding and Views Into Sales

It's time...time to create that inspiring, professional yet authentic video that sells.

Wanted to share this photo taken directly from the March "IGNITE YOUR IT FACTOR: Inspire and Influence Millions on Camera" with Keri Murphy, nationally recognized TV on-camera expert. An encore training is being prepared as Keri and I set the stage for you to shine in your branded video taught on Friday and Saturday, June 7-8 in Long Beach.

Our purpose: I join Keri in making this a fun, creative, and inspiring experience. We want you to connect with people authentically through the camera & turn views into SALES with the tools you will take home from the It Factor Training. Apply now to be in one of our 10 seats! 4 are taken and we have several applications submitted already being considered. May 20th deadline or once spots are all filled; whichever comes first.

Here's a peek at some of what will happen behind closed doors for 2 days:

Day 1: Behind the Scenes - We take a “deep dive” as we determine how you authentically connect with your ideal client in the way that only you can. What is your IT factor? Where do you get stuck? What are you saying to yourself? How does your audience learn? We travel into your heart and mind as we polish your unique message.

As Keri's guest expert, I'll be teaching you my BOLD personal branding content secrets from my current coaching curriculum and my Hollywood days as a publicist. Then we'll jump in how to write a BOLD, compelling video script!

Day 2: Lights-Camera-Action! Our training room transforms into a bona fide television studio-with professional sound/light/camera crew. After working on your message with us, tweaking and rehearsal, it’s your time to shine! Professional hair and make-up stylists come in and make you beautifully or handsomely camera-ready before you film your video.

Yes, a teleprompter is included so you can get it just right! You also have the rare opportunity to see others being filmed-a super-valuable learning experience.

You will either have the beginnings of a professional video with the knowledge and tools how to turn it into a final product or you could walk out with your professional video in hand. That all depends on the process and your receptivity to being on-camera for the 1st time. No worries. This is all part of "embracing your spotlight with confidence, savvy and ease." :)

Keri has 25 yrs. of on-camera experience-from MTV and commercials to hosting on the Golf Channel and teaching actors and on-air talent. Combined with my 25 yrs. of entertainment and PR experience, you have 50 yrs. of experience and one of the best options available to Embrace Your Spotlight, discover your IT factor, and come out looking like a savvy, smart  personality! The IT factor is what drove my clients upward during my Hollywood days as a publicist. Now I look for that in you, the business owner.

It's a private training for only 10 people. The cut-off to apply is May 20th or when all spots are gone; whichever comes first.

In order to offer this quality, personalized time with our students, you will need to apply for one of the remaining spots to be sure you are ready and a fit. (It takes a certain mindset and vulnerability to do this). Taking action TODAY counts. Read the info page and fill out the application now by clicking here. Keri's team is doing interviews now.

SPECIAL: For those wanting to brainstorm with me first, I will take 5 phone appointments for a 20 min chat to discuss your brand and how this training could elevate your marketing and revenues.
Email me to schedule your time and my team will get back with you promptly to get you in! Then I will connect you with Keri and her team.
